Experience and Accomplishments
Kenneth S. Sumerford has worked for several major corporations and small businesses during the last thirty-four years. At Caterpillar in Illinois he worked in manufacturing (including blue-collar, manual labor jobs) and quality control. In Q.C., he started working with both mainframes and PCs. He learned statistical process control at Caterpillar and became a Certified Quality Engineer. At Venture (in Peoria, Illinois) he was the toy department manager at the store where he learned retailing, including pricing, merchandizing and purchasing.
He came to Texas with his family in 1986 to work for Bell Helicopter Textron as an engineer in their Engineering Labs department. Later he was promoted to Senior Engineer and joined the Quality Assurance department. At Bell Helicopter his achievements included: producing new developments in the Vendor Rating System; new reports on defects, dollar costs, and corrective actions for area plants; and created other reports and databases for engineers and managers.
In 1989, Kenneth was working on a Ph.D. and working at AMR, parent company for American Airlines. As Senior Programmer at their headquarters in Ft. Worth, he worked mostly on IBM mainframes doing marketing reports and large (over 100,000 records) data files.
Later he left AMR and started a small business in IT (Information Technology.) One of his clients was Neiman Marcus in Dallas, Texas. He maintained and expanded one of two procurements systems for the whole corporation. He also worked at Alcon Labs in Ft. Worth as a contractor. At MCI, he took a PC application and transformed it into a Web-based system for their training department. In his small business, he worked with small companies in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area in PC applications.
Education
He earned a B.S. in Biology and minor in Chemistry at Missouri State University in Springfield. Finding a lack of opportunities in science at the time, he entered business school where he earned a MBA in business and economics in 1973 at Missouri State University. His grade point during the MBA program was 4.0/4.0; and with straight A’s he entered the field of business.
After coming to Texas he entered a Ph.D. program with a major in Marketing and a minor in Information Systems. But health issues and political problems (in the Marketing department) made him leave the academic field in 1990 and do work in IT and marketing.
Kenneth’s personal library holds over 230 books on such areas as: business (including marketing, small business, corporate finance,
and personal finance); IT, including programming languages, databases and Web development; economics; education; and writing.
He also reads newsletters in investing, and obtains news on the latest developments from the Internet. He is an avid reader
as his education continues year-after-year.

President of Sumerford System Seven LLC
Kenneth Sumerford manages and creates Web sites, Internet marketing, creation and publication of articles, databases, and additional IT operations including programming for Web pages and databases. He does most of the accounting for the company.
Kenneth believes in thorough research, so he reads books and articles while developing articles in such areas as: personal finance (including debt management, family budgets and personal risk analysis) and small business; national and global economics; and the craft of writing.
As a writer, he interacts with other writers in Texas through a local writers’ group.
He is the Webmaster and one of the two Internet Architects for Sumerford7.com and SEOandPPCMarketing.com, and also writes articles for the Web site

Wrap-up and Future Goals
Kenneth Sumerford is married to Donna Sumerford, has a son Scott and daughter Angela—who are married and have children of their own.
Kenneth has gained experience at large corporations and small businesses, while working a variety of jobs from factory worker to computer programmer, Internet architect, Internet marketer, writer, financial analyst, and small company president. His formal education includes a B.S. in Biology and a MBA in business and finance. His extended education includes reading dozens of books, including books on business, economics, investing, IT, Internet marketing, psychology and personal achievement, biology, chemistry, physics, education, and the art and craft of writing. He has been a member of Mensa USA for more than 25 years.
SEOandPPCMarketing.com is the new (November 2009) Web site of Sumerford System Seven LLC. This Web site will contain articles, EBooks and software for SEO, PPC, Email marketing and other areas of Internet marketing and small business finance. The new desktop software will help small companies in these key areas: SEO; PPC and CPA (Cost Per Action); marketing and financial calculations; and Internet marketing tactics.
